Bubble memory is a computing device based
on the creation of small "bubbles" on a
magnetic surface. Bubble memory can
typically store up to 4 megabits that is
equivillent to 4 million bits of
information. They are not sensitive to
shock and vibration, unlike other memory
devices such as disk drives, yet, like
magnetic disks, they are nonvolatile and
do not lose their information when the
computer is switched off.
